This time, I set myself to try and be more organized in watching the race and writing down more race-related stuff. Stuff. You know, like who won which races and such. Oh, and anything else of note during each race.
Sunday started with a delay. From the rain the previous night, the track was quite wet. After sweeping water off where possible, Max eventually put the call out to have people with drive the track with their cars and that appeared to handle the rest of the water.
Please note that any winner I point is unofficial. I am not aware of post-tech inspection results or what not. Marshaling the turn did keep me busy, some races I did not know the result.
PRE-FINAL
The kid karts started up at 1:00pm. The kids were their usual selves on the track and where relatively incident-free.
Senior Briggs Animal ran a clean and orderly race. #67 crossed the finish line first.
Yamaha Lite started up clean and ran an orderly race. #31 came across the finish line with a comfortable lead.
Sportsman Yamaha was one of the three big classes for the day. Props to the class for slowing down on their own to allow a kart had to restart its motor. The race finished clean with, I believe, #44 crossing first.
Next up was a combined class run of Master Briggs Animal (1 kart) and Senior Novice Yamaha (2 karts). #29 of the the Yami class had a wide lead until he misjudged old turn 7, allowing #5 to cross the line first. In his Animal, Hal smoked his competition. He ran a clean race, especially given the fact that he was all by himself!
Junior Yamaha 1 had a fairly clean race with #48 crossing the finish line first.
Yamaha Heavy saw #78 finish first. Clean start to the race with everyone being a good driver.
Rookie had #20 cross the line first.
Yamaha Super Can was the second of the big classes. This one had a lot of bumping at the start. Once things stretched out, there was some very close packs of karts with #16 crossing first.
Cadet Junior Sportsman was a close race of 10 and 93. I am not certain who went across first.
Junior Briggs was a small class. #5 finished first.
Shifters were their usual speedy selves. #17 jumped to an early lead and untouchable the rest of the way.
Sportsman Briggs ran a clean race, but I don't know who finished first.
Master Can Yamaha (aka, Old Man Can) was the third of the big classes. As usual, there was the normal first laps antics, but finished clean. A lot of karts stayed really close each other. I did not see who the winner was.
Junior Yamaha 2 ran a clean race. I did not see who won.
TaG was big. I had not seen 7 TaG at one time in my three years with the club. Maybe the word is finally getting out about the new track expansion? Once again, I did not see who won.
FINAL results to follow in report part 2. _________________ Turn Marshal |
