For the third time this year one of the Birel Drivers had a tire cut by something under someone's chassis.
When I returned to racing in 1995, my hand was cut requiring thirteen stiches to close, by something under someone's Kart.
Please check out the underside of your chassis for sharp oblects that can slice some open if they happen to be driven over.
Cotter pins on weight bolts, or seat bolts are the likely culprits. Bolt ends or heads that have been ground off by draging on the ashalt can be replaced. Sometimes a small wire left from the welding process is there.
All of these can be fixed. I can replace a tire, helmet, of piece of protective clothing, but a disfiguring scar is a lifetime of pain and suffering for anyone.
To keep this from happening to your son/daughter, check your Kart over with this thought in mind. "Is there something here that can cut a tire, if we get airborne?" _________________ Jean Stafford
