The rulebook they follow is the WKA Rulebook & the EasyKart Rulebook. I don't have a WKA Rulebook. The EasyKart Rules are here http://www.easykart.com/Information/Easykart_Rules_Book/
The club doesn't have the size OVKA does. 6 classes in total. EasyKart60, EasyKart100, EasyKart125 Lite, EasyKart125 Heavy, TAG, Shifter. Most of the classes average 5 to 6. And most of the time The EK125 Lite, EK125 Heavy and TAG all race together for a total of about 15-20 karts on the track at once.
The track is a bigger 1.0 mile sprint track.
As far as how it's handled, I know when I was helping them a few months ago. I worked the grid, scales, and scored. In one of the Final, the computer had problems, so I quickly grabbed a piece of paper and scored by hand. The way it was done for so many years before the computer. I also know that as each race was going on I would watch the computer screen and make sure each time a kart passed the Start/Finish line that the kart was getting counted.
As far as Qualifying goes, I know that they have 10 minute qualifying sessions. And whoever is scoring makes sure the kart is responding to the system, if not they are black flag, since they aren't getting any times. They come in and the club has a few transponders by the computer at all times or they just end up borrowing one from someone else. And go try and get some times before the end of the session.
The procedure is not on their website, but in my opinion they use common sense and be as fair as possible to everyone involved.

I may be wrong on this......but I "think" just that just maybe ...about all karting clubs strive to do this for there membership..
That said, we do something very very similar to what your club does in regards to scoring and in case there is a failure of a computer, which btw we have three computers in case one decides to take a early nap and not wake up 
The Ladies that do this for OVKA are very good at what they do when it comes to scoring the Karters who race at the track.

I agree. But this is what I'm getting at and you don't want to understand.
The Race Director came online and see they followed the Rulebook to the letter regarding the Qualifying Line Up.
So why wouldn't they have to following the letter regarding not being scored for whatever reason computer or transponder? It's a rule printed in the rule book. The whole Transponder thing came up by me to show that the rulebook has issues
I'll ask you this Ray. How would you, your wife or your son doesn't get scored for whatever reason with respect to the transponder and/or computer system? Be honest here too. I personal thing EVERYONE would be pissed off and not understand why they didn't get scored.

Lessse if I understand this.
Pat wants to qualify cause it's safer, yet it's acceptable to allow, no, demand, that a potentially slower kart start in front of a faster one.
Whare's the safety here??
And, what membership? the few who attend BoD meetings where the benefit of ALL karters is suposedly being discussed?
